This Venture Anatomy animated diagram shows the fundamental anatomy for just about any venture, for-profit or nonprofit. By “venture” I’m talking about essentially any undertaking to offer something to an audience, things like information, products and services. The diagram shows systems and resource flows that are typical of most ventures.

Understanding the basic anatomy of business and nonprofit ventures is a big help in diagnosing problems and suggesting solutions. I use this framework with my clients to help put their challenges in context and develop deeper understanding of the interrelated systems of the enterprise. Getting that clarity is a strong foundation to work from in finding solutions and better ways of doing things.

Learning about your venture’s anatomy will help you develop plans and strategies to keep the flows going.

Check it out and let me know what you think!
