As y’all may know, I’m pretty much always involved in some sort of community project, from helping launch grassroots organizations to doing fundraisers to building tools for civic engagement. One thread through all these projects is a focus on highlighting informational resources as a starting point towards meaningful action. So in the last few weeks, I’ve been making an effort to stay informed about what’s happening in the New Mexico legislative session, which is nearing its halfway point.

As a busy self-employed person, keeping up with state legislative developments is easier said than done! So I asked around and pulled together a little list of good sources of info, which you’ll find below.

What resources am I missing? Which are your favorites? Please drop me a line to let me know! And if you’d like to get more involved in policy issues related to small business, economic development and sustainability, I’d love to hear from you. I’m on the Steering Circle of an awesome organization, SEED NM (Sustainable Equitable Economic Democracy New Mexico) that was created specifically to engage small business owners and self-employed folx on these issues. (We’re an affiliate of the American Sustainable Business Network which does this work at a national level.)
